The first 3 seconds of your video determine everything. If you can't hook the viewer immediately, your amazing content will never be seen.
Hook Types That Work
1. The Bold Statement
"This one trick changed my entire editing process." Make a claim that demands attention.
2. The Question
"Why do your videos look amateur?" Ask something that makes viewers want the answer.
3. The Visual Hook
Start with the most visually striking moment of your video. A dramatic slow-motion shot, an impressive result, or something unexpected.
4. The Pattern Interrupt
Do something unexpected that breaks the scroll pattern. A sudden movement, a surprising image, or an unusual camera angle.
5. The Relatable Pain Point
"Tired of spending 3 hours editing one video?" Address a frustration your audience shares.
Hook Structure
- Second 1: Visual or verbal hook that stops the scroll
- Second 2: Context that builds curiosity
- Second 3: Promise of value that keeps them watching
Testing Your Hooks
Record 3–5 different hooks for the same video and post the one that feels strongest. Over time, you'll develop an instinct for what works with your audience.
